MySubaru: What Is It?

MySubaru is a name that is used for a variety of functions.  Let’s talk a little more about them now.

MySubaru Connected Services: Formerly known as Subaru STARLINK, Connected Services is a subscription-based “telematics” service. Some of the features that you can do with a subscription include using the Red and Blue overhead buttons in your car to call for Emergency or for Roadside Assistance, remotely locating, locking, unlocking, and starting your car to preheat or precool it. The MySubaru features available to you as part of your subscription will vary depending on the model, model year, trim level of your car, and your subscription option.

MySubaru.com or the MySubaru mobile app: Both the website and mobile phone app allow you to manage your vehicle ownership with such tasks as contact information, maintenance schedule and service history, and your MySubaru subscription.   MySubaru Connected Services features use the website or mobile app. But even if you do not have a subscription, there are still some basic functions you can do via the app or website.

MySubaru Icon: The MySubaru icon on your car’s touchscreen allows you to make an appointment for Service, call for roadside assistance if you have a flat tire or run out of.  Unlike the mobile app, the MySubaru icon is only functional with an active MySubaru subscription.

Subaru STARLINK:  If you have a Subaru STARLINK icon on your home screen in an older vehicle, you can disregard it as it is no longer functional.  Same thing if you have a Subaru STARLINK mobile app on your phone.  The last vestige of the Subaru STARLINK brand in your vehicle (the Subaru STARLINK splash screen upon startup; the voiceover when you initiate a call from the Red or Blue overhead buttons) will eventually be removed by Subaru.

For questions specific to your MySubaru account such as changing your PIN, renewing/cancelling your subscription, please call 855-753-2495.  Or you can do it through the MySubaru app.

Make-A-Wish Fall Festival: For the second year in a row, we participated in the annual Trunk or Treat at the Make-A-Wish Oregon event in Portland on October 4 handing out candy to wish kids and their families. With our dinosaur-themed decorated Forester that we nicknamed “Jurassic Forest(er)” we were assisted by dino-cats Sammy and Fifi.

Homeless Solutions Gala: On October 10th we attended the Night of Caring Gala for our newest partner and friends, Homeless Solutions Coalition of Clackamas County.  Not only were we one of the gala sponsors, but we are also on the Steering Committee (“Campaign Cabinet”) for Caring Place, the coalition's innovative and comprehensive needs complex being built across from us to address the ongoing homeless situation in Clackamas County. Look for more information about Caring Place next month. Or check out their site at hsccc.org.

Subaru Loves Pets: From now through the end of October, we are collecting supplies and food for dogs and cats to benefit the Oregon Humane Society.  Stop on by the store and fill up the Crosstrek trunk in the Sales Showroom.   As a Subaru retailer, we and Subaru of America are also providing funding to help shelter pets get adopted in our community.  Nationally, October 22 has been designated Make a Dog’s Day. Though we like to call it Make a Pet’s Day...because we love our cats too!

The Business Office is an important function of our dealership. Our behind-the-scenes team works to complete your purchase or lease transaction.  This includes auditing the documents for state and Lithia compliance, finalizing deals that are financed with banks and credit unions or paid in full via check, and submitting the necessary documents to the state to get your car registered and licensed.  If you have enjoyed the snacks in the Service/Sales waiting area, there's a good chance they procured it for us. There's a lot they do.  Let's meet one of them.

Alyssa Pedro, Dealership Accounting Coordinator, is about to celebrate her five-year anniversary with us in November.   She has been in her Business Office role since September 2024 but some of you may recognize her from the previous four years when she was a Sales Consultant.  You may have even bought your car from her!

Alyssa is a very passionate pet owner. She has two cats and a dog.  She also loves crafts!  If you've been to any of our Make-A-Wish Parties in our showroom, Alyssa spearheaded the decorating.  She and her boyfriend, Kyren, also decorated our "Jurassic Forest(er)" car for the Make-A-Wish Fall Festival.  See the picture of that car in the Community Corner section of this month's newsletter.  Alyssa lives right here in Oregon City and like many of us here also drives a Subaru vehicle.

More Than a Car Dealership, our customer newsletter, is written and edited by David Meltzer, our store’s Love Promise Champion.
