What Makes a Used Vehicle Certified Pre-Owned?
Subaru understands that not all used cars are equal. The automaker has provided tests and criteria to designate high-quality used models with certified benefits.
First, a vehicle must be a 2010 model year or newer and have low mileage to receive Subaru certification. Next, vehicles must pass a rigorous 152-point inspection. Inside and out, this inspection looks for defects and wear in workmanship, safety, and performance. If a Subaru technician finds a fault that can't be fixed, the vehicle will not receive certification.

If a vehicle earns certification, it comes with a list of great benefits for drivers. Each CPO model comes with a Carfax vehicle history report, 24/7 roadside assistance, a free three-month trial of SiriusXM radio, and -- most notably -- a seven-year, 100,000-mile factory-backed limited powertrain warranty.
What is Covered Under the CPO Warranty?
Subaru offers two warranty plans for its certified pre-owned models near Portland, Clackamas and West Linn.
Classic: This plan covers a wide variety of components. Among important systems like the engine, transmission, drivetrains, electrical, air conditioning, brakes, front suspension, cooling, and fuel, the Classic certified pre-owned warranty covers more than 1,000 parts. Plus, you will be reimbursed for any necessary towing or rental car services.
Gold Plus: This upgraded warranty is about as close to "bumper to bumper" as you can get. Omitting only a few components from coverage, it adds a slew of parts to the ones already covered by the classic warranty. Convenience services like road hazard tire protection, computerized road trip routing, travel, assistance, and more make the Gold Plus warranty a true premium experience.
