Subaru of America Inc. recently announced that the Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special established a new four door sedan lap record at the renowned Nürburgring Norsschleife race track in Germany. Specifically designed to showcase the capabilities of both the sedan and Subaru's all-wheel drive, the vehicle sprinted to a sub-seven minute lap over the 12.8-mile course, with its time of 6:57.5 verified by track officials.
Subaru put a rally spec 2.0-liter Boxer engine and Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive in the custom WRX STI Type RA NBR Special, which has now set lap records at The Goodwill Festival of Speed hill climb, the Isle of Man TT and the Nürburgring Norsschleife.
In a press release, Dominick Infante, Subaru Product Communications manager, stated, "We brought the WRX STI Type RA NBR Special here to set a record and call attention to the WRX STI Type RA that we will launch later this year. The WRX STI Type RA promises a great deal, with improved performance and styling and even better handling dynamics than the current car."
At Lithia Subaru of Oregon City, we're looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the new WRX STI Type RA. Our showroom at 1404 Main Street in Oregon City proudly serves Subaru drivers from the Oregon City, Portland, West Linn, Molalla, Lake Oswego and Clackamas areas.
