There are two particularly unfortunate things about vehicle breakdowns. One is that they happen at all and the other is that they can strike in inconvenient and sometimes unsafe places. Even if you have roadside assistance, you could be waiting for quite a while before help comes.

But if you have a roadside emergency kit in your car, you can ease some of the pain and keep yourself safer.

Here are a few items to keep in your car:

  1. Tire gauge: This is useful not only for checking the pressure in the tires on your car, but also your spare's pressure. Use this to check your spare now and again to save yourself frustration later.
  2. Foam tire sealant: This is a quick temporary fix that can save you from having to change your tire.
  3. Flashlight: Make sure it's waterproof and keep extra batteries handy.
  4. Duct tape: The go-to fix-it solution! A ten-foot roll should suffice.
  5. Reflective warning triangles: Carry at least three and place them 50 feet from each other when you're on the side of the road.

Schedule a checkup with our service center in Oregon City, OR before a long road trip to make sure your car is fighting fit!
