What to do When a Tire Goes Flat

Failing to fix a flat tire could cause other damage to the vehicle. Therefore, it is important that you know what to do if one of your vehicle's tires goes flat or is otherwise damaged. The first thing that you need to do is get your car near a level surface.

Doing so will prevent the car from falling over after you elevate it. Before you take off the damaged tire, take a close look at it to determine if the damage can be fixed. In some cases, you can patch a small puncture or take other steps to stop a slow leak.

To change the tire, remove the lug nuts and take off the tire. Once the damaged tire is off, put the spare tire in place and put the lug nuts back on. If necessary, take the vehicle to Lithia Subaru of Oregon City for service on your vehicle.
